A haven of simplicity and warmth in the heart of Annecy
Twenty years ago, Chez Ingalls opened its doors in a quiet corner of Annecy with a simple but strong ambition: to create a place of conviviality where everyone could feel at home. In 2004, Nicolas Thome and his partner at the time had a visionary idea: to build a restaurant like no other, a warm and welcoming place where meals would recall the dishes of our grandmothers, simple and comforting.
An authentic and family atmosphere
Chez Ingalls is not only a restaurant; it is a real refuge where each visitor feels welcomed as if they were in the home of their childhood. With a vision far from ephemeral trends, this restaurant has been able to offer a warm and family environment, becoming a place where it is good to meet around a good meal.
A place steeped in history, between past and present
The location of the restaurant contributes to its unique charm. Housed in a former large stable, the building was formerly used to house animals and dry hay on the upper floor. After being a furniture store and an art gallery, this space with a rich past has become the ideal setting for a restaurant steeped in authenticity.
Expanding capacity and reputation
At the beginning, the restaurant welcomed 70 guests. However, over the years, the warm welcome and the unique atmosphere of Chez Ingalls have won over both the inhabitants of Annecy and the visitors. In 2018, Nicolas Thome expanded the restaurant by buying the neighboring building, which now accommodates up to 400 guests every day in a simple and comforting setting.
Varied spaces for a unique experience
Chez Ingalls offers much more than just a dining room. Each space is an experience in itself:
The Winter Gardens
A main room bathed in light, ideal for convivial meals.

The Black Bar
An intimate space where to share warm moments over a drink.

The Caroline Lounge
A cozy living room that recalls the spirit of a large family home.

Charles's Cellar
Nestled in the basement, it offers a rustic and charming atmosphere.

The first floor of the Little House
An intimate and warm place, perfect for a peaceful evening.

A timeless spirit, family traditions
With the passage of time, Chez Ingalls has been able to reinvent itself while remaining faithful to its values of authenticity and conviviality. The restaurant has even become a place for annual traditions, such as the Christmas market, where The Little Cabin on the Prairie celebrates the winter season and the festive spirit of Christmas.
An essential address in Annecy
Twenty years after its opening, Chez Ingalls is more than a restaurant; it is a real institution in Annecy. Regulars return for the unchanged authenticity, and new generations discover a place where tradition and intimacy combine for a unique experience. The family spirit and the sweetness of Little House on the Prairie continue to permeate every corner of this timeless restaurant.
